夏 / 羅門

●SUMMER
By Lomen 羅門
Translated by John J. S. BALCOM

Summer pushes the huge millstone of the sun
Grinding the sky, the sea, and the open countryside
Into a flaming orb
Rolling around
In Nature
It won’t stop
Unless it rains in the afternoon

Actually, although summer is a
Firebird setting fires everywhere
It folds its wings
Hides in the forest imbibing the green shade
Hides in the mountains drinking cold spring water
Near the green willows and fragrant water lilies
of a pavilion
It dozes at noon in such beauty
Even its own dream freezes into pure ice
In Nature’s cooler
Amid a cool breeze and the sound of flowing water
It
Floats
Away
