文盟詩訊

Amnesia

translated by Marian Lee

Honeycomb
Block after block of tiny cells
Laden with candy-sweet
History
Brimming with bitter-bland
Memories.
Old age came
One cell after another
Shriveled up
One larva after another
Withered away
Before they could have
Grand dreams of flight
This honeycomb of memories
Left behind row after row of
Empty cells
These many remnant cells
Stack up into a tower -
A looming tower of
Emptiness
